ACC Sept Meeting (9/10) & Club Trip (9/12)

Hello fellow climbers,

We hope you have had a good summer and are ready for a great fall of climbing. Due to the Labor Day weekend and other considerations we have both pushed the meeting back a week to 9/10 (the 2nd Thursday) from 7-9 pm, and changed the 9/12 trip destination to Lost Wall rather than Griffin Falls. The basic info for both events is below. More details on both to come later.

ACC Sept 10th Meeting at Chastain Park

The meeting will be at Chastain Park (map and address below) from 7-9 pm.  The same location as the July 4th BBQ.  We will be holding climbing challenge games with prizes.  Come join in on the fun; everyone with an interest in climbing is welcome.  This meeting will be a BYOB and also bring any food you want to eat or share.  As a reminder, no glass is allowed in the park, so all beverages need to be brought in cans. The club will be providing water but please bring a reusable water bottle so we can cut down on waste.

ACC Sept 12th Club Trip now to Lost Wall

We decided to switch to Lost Wall as it provides more room to spread out and also offers more mid-range climbs than Griffin Falls.

Lost Wall is in the Crockford-Pigeon WMA near Lafayette, GA approx. 2hours from Atl.  The cliff line is sandstone with a fairly easy approach and a variety of trad routes. We will probably focus on the Lost Wall section, though the Netherworld area can be accessed by following the cliff line south.

There are no restrooms or water available on site. Parking is limited, please carpool if possible.

A GA hunt or fish license is required and can be purchased online.

The fishing license is the cheapest option and also gives access to Rocktown, plus many other WMAs with hiking/mtn biking trails.
